Martha signed on as my doula in early 2020, right before Covid hit us hard, which nobody could have predicted. It was an incredibly scary time to be giving birth, especially for the first time, and I honestly don’t believe I could have done it without Martha! It was unprecedented for all of us and she navigated it like a true professional. We talked about all the possibilities and Martha did all the research she could to present whatever facts were known at the time, and she was so so supportive both physically and emotionally during it all. At the time I went into labor, we weren’t allowed to have a doula in the birthing center and I was so scared because that wasn’t at all the plan! But Martha came to my home to help me with early labor, knew when it was time to go to the hospital (my water broke right after I got checked in!), she escorted me to the hospital and all the way to the door. She offered to be virtually available for the birth and literally did everything she could, I mean above and beyond, to make the experience as least scary as possible. She did a fabulous job and I would recommend her again and again.
